Activities in Deia

Now that you're in Deia you should do as Deians do - which seems to be a lot of artistic pursuits! Jokes aside, Deia is an excellent location for trekkers and hikers, bikers and even drivers because the Serra de Tramuntana is a one of a kind network of winding roads, nooks and crannies that you’ll never truly know like the back of your hand.  

Robert Graves’ residence is now a museum, and the town has several art galleries extolling the town's history. Alongside with a good selection of restaurants, a laid back visitor needn’t travel far. But then there’s always Sóller in the next valley. And Palma’s not very far...  

Beaches in Deia

Deia isn’t necessarily the place to be if you want sun, sea and sand, but there is the very picturesque Cala Deia just 2km down the road.

There are two restaurants here meaning the trip is definitely worthwhile. And many artists feature this small bay in their works.  Most of Mallorca’s North/West coast is rather rocky and craggy, so a boat might be best, or a good pair of climbing shoes. Llucalcari is another great cove, as well as Cala Banyalbufar. If you’re looking for sand, you could head either north or south as the travel time is roughly the same. 

Nightlife and shopping in Deia  

Deia is quite a sleepy town by Mallorcan standards. The bars and restaurants here are excellent but won’t satisfy your appetite for partying if that what you want. Luckily Palma de Mallorca is not far, and there you’ll be spoilt for choice. Although do recommend making arrangements for your return beforehand.  

But if you’re looking for good food with a touch of rustic charm whilst being a little refined, then Deia is just the place for you and we recommend Es Raco d’es Teix, which deservedly holds a Michelin Star.
